ORTHO-BIONOMY

Gentle, attentive movement and positioning elicit the body's self-corrective reflexes to release muscular tension and strain, reduce pain, and improve functioning, alignment, and range of motion. Patterns of posture and movement are addressed, getting at the root of recurring pain and restriction, and providing longer lasting improvement.

Non-invasive, non-force contact engages the nervous system ("master system") to affect change in the skeletal structure, fascia, muscles, glands, organs, and lymphatic system.  Ortho-Bionomy addresses both the presenting imbalances and the underlying patterns that cause the pain or dysfunction.

Ortho-Bionomy was developed by British Osteopath and Judo Instructor, Arthur Lincoln Pauls, in the 1970’s.  This modality has its roots in work known as "Strain/Counterstrain" and "Spontaneous Release by Positioning."
